Individual volunteer opportunities

RISE to make a difference! Caring adults play an important role in helping young people reach their potential. RISE for Youth is recruiting volunteers interested in sharing their knowledge, experience, and connections with the next generation.

Opportunities to make a difference include:

  • Guest speaker: Visit a RISE for Youth class to share information about your career and the path you took to get where you are today.
  • Become a host: Join the growing list of external businesses and Mayo Clinic departments hosting students during the RISE for Youth four-week cohorts. Students will take part in field trips, department tours, and a career fair.
  • Become a mentor: Commit to mentoring a student for a period of one year. Mentors will have an initial meeting with students during the RISE for Youth cohort at Mayo Clinic and then meet with them a minimum of four additional times throughout the year. Training is provided. Learn more about becoming a mentor.
  • Volunteer for community events: Volunteering is an important way to help individuals and communities in need.

If you are interested in any of these opportunities or to learn about more opportunities through our mailing list, email RISEforYouth@mayo.edu.
