Rachel J. Bubik, Pharm.D., R.Ph.Why I chose Mayo Clinic for residency training

The first quality that drew me to Mayo Clinic was the commitment shown to each resident as an individual. From the interactions that took place during the onsite interview and throughout my PGY-1 here, it is evident how dedicated the program is to supporting residents. They take a personalized approach to shape the residency year to fit each resident's individual professional goals.

Mayo Clinic is a world-renowned institution with a unique and complex oncology patient population. World experts in the fields of hematology and oncology are part of the teams you work alongside every day. This fact, coupled with the priority placed on education, makes this institution an incredible place to train and learn.

In addition to the variety of elective learning experiences that a large academic center affords, I was very impressed with the clinical research projects that residents conduct. The research mentors and resources available allow the resident to develop the skills needed to perform clinical research in a way that will impact pharmacy practice.

The opportunities that are present for pharmacists and residents at this hospital, both in patient care and beyond, are unmatched. I am truly honored to have the chance to serve the patients at Mayo Clinic as a pharmacist and postgraduate resident.
