From the program director

Solid organ transplantation (SOT) pharmacists have specialized training and knowledge to manage complex medication regimens unique to the SOT population. We care for organ donors and recipients throughout all phases of SOT, of all ages, and in various healthcare settings.

At Mayo Clinic, evidence-based, patient-centered medication management is central to the design, implementation, monitoring, and modification of pharmacotherapy plans. With greater than 350 transplants annually, you will gain exposure to adult and pediatric heart, liver (living and deceased donors), kidney (living and deceased donors) transplant and adult pancreas, multi-visceral organ transplant, and vascular composite allograft transplantation.

The SOT PGY-2 residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, is accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and supported by the renowned medical education system developed by Mayo Clinic.

Members of our interdisciplinary staff are passionate about patient care and dedicated to your development as a transplant specialist. To ensure a comprehensive learning experience, your interactions will be with patients, caregivers, and all members of the respected transplant team.

Following completion of the program, your skills and confidence will prepare you to practice as a transplant pharmacist at any transplant centers. Please consider the endlessly rewarding honor of caring for this unique, specialized patient population.
