Wilson Scholars Program

Wilson Scholars Program is a graduate medical education pathway towards career advancement. This program welcomes all applicants. Students from historically underrepresented groups are especially encouraged to apply.
The program is offered through the Education Office of Belonging at the Mayo Clinic College of Education & Science and is designed to prepare medical students for residency training through long-term engagement and a robust curriculum. There is no cost to participate.
Program highlights:
- Individualized mentorship based on life experiences and specialty
- On-campus visit (travel stipend provided)
- Virtual workshops and webinars
- Access to Mayo Clinic Continuous Professional Development courses
- Yearly participation up to third year of medical school
Application process
Application is by invitation only. Nominations are sought from college deans before candidates are invited to apply.
Currently, only students in their first year of medical school are eligible.

- Thursday evening: Arrival and reception
- Friday: Observations and meetings
- Saturday: Community visit
- Sunday: Departure
