Program Director

I am honored to serve as the Program Director for our NP/PA Medical Oncology Fellowship and am excited to guide you through this educational journey. I was raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and my academic journey began with a Bachelor of Radiologic Sciences from Bellin College in Green Bay, Wisconsin. I completed my Masters of Physician Assistant Studies through the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where my passion for cancer care developed, leading me to pursue a career in Medical Oncology.

Since joining Mayo Clinic in 2016, I have dedicated my clinical practice to the treatment of head and neck cancers. I find my work incredibly rewarding, especially the opportunity to provide comprehensive care to patients. My research interests include survivorship care and immunotherapy toxicity.

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, which provides a wonderful balance to my professional life, and I am always eager to explore new experiences. I value spending time with family and friends, and my golden retriever, Murphee. As a dedicated Green Bay Packers fan, I love cheering on my favorite team during football season—Go Pack Go!

Associate Program Director

I am delighted to serve as associate program director for this fellowship.  I was raised in metro-Detroit, Michigan, and obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.  While studying nursing at Luther, I was able to complete clinical rotations at Mayo Clinic in Rochester and began my nursing career at Mayo as a staff nurse on an inpatient medical oncology and hospice floor.  I practiced as a staff RN in oncology for 11 years before completing a Master of Science degree at Winona State University.

I joined the Thoracic Oncology team as a nurse practitioner in 2014.  In this role, I have witnessed the rapid evolution of novel treatment approaches which has helped patients live longer and live better with lung cancer.  I enjoy the challenge of staying abreast of treatment advances and learn something new every day I come to work!  It is a privilege to provide longitudinal cancer care and education to patients and families, supporting and guiding them through a challenging diagnosis and, often, end of life.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, and baking.

Medical Director

I am a Sarcoma Medical Oncologist. I was raised in Fairbanks, Alaska, and earned my Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, as well as my Master of Science in Biology from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. I earned my medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine and subsequently completed my Internal Medicine Residency here at Mayo Clinic Rochester. I fell in love with hematology/oncology during residency and went on to complete my fellowship training at the University of Michigan. It was there that I developed my passion for sarcoma oncology and was happy to return to Mayo Clinic in Rochester as a consultant in 2018.

I care for adult patients with all types of bone and soft tissue sarcomas. I find my work to be incredibly rewarding and love what I do. Research in this field is so important to me, as this is the only way we can learn more about these cancers and improve our treatments. I have an interest in cancer biomarkers, and my research focuses on evaluation of blood- and tissue-based biomarkers in sarcomas. I also actively participate in clinical research through clinical trials.

Outside of work, I love to spend time with my family and friends. My hobbies include reading, running, and traveling.
