Overview

Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences offers the only Physician Assistant (PA) Fellowship in Cellular Therapy and Blood and Marrow Transplant in Arizona at Mayo Clinic's campus in Phoenix, Arizona.

Program highlights

The one-year PA Fellowship in Cellular Therapy and Blood and Marrow Transplant employs Mayo Clinic’s world-renowned model to develop well-rounded clinicians in the care of hospitalized patients with subspecialty expertise in hematology, oncology, and cellular therapy. By the end of the training, the fellow will be able to function efficiently from inpatient Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) services to outpatient Cellular Therapy Clinics (CTC).

Fellows will be mentored in the three core principles that make Mayo Clinic exceptional — patient care, research, and education. Through this process, the graduate will be highly competitive in today’s job market in general hospital practice to tomorrow’s medical innovations.

During the fellowship, you will engage in the following educational experiences:

  • Orientation and onboarding
  • Weekly didactic training including grand rounds, chalk talk, etc.
  • CME conference
  • Case and journal article presentations
  • Hematology and oncology
  • Blood and marrow transplant
  • Critical care and palliative medicine
  • Cardiology and pulmonary medicine
  • Infectious diseases
  • Neurology
  • Pediatric hematology/oncology
  • Elective

Graduation and certification

After successfully completing the fellowship, you will receive a Certificate of Completion from Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences.
