Advisers and mentors

Fellows will work closely with the program director, Dr. Kullo, to identify a mentor who aligns with their career and research goals. In addition to program leadership, mentors help fellows develop and obtain their individual career goals.

You are assigned to a dedicated faculty advisor who can provide comprehensive educational advice and personal support. You will meet with your advisors periodically throughout the fellowship to review your progress and career goals and ensure that your educational needs are being met. Advisors also serve as a contact point for introducing you and your families to Rochester, Minnesota, and Mayo Clinic Health System.

Visiting professors

Once a year, the fellows in the Cardiovascular Training Program select and invite an internationally recognized cardiologist as their visiting professor. During the visit, fellows are cleared from their clinical responsibilities to spend time and network with the visiting professor. During the day, fellows will review interesting cases, discuss their research, and obtain career advice.
