The Colon and Rectal Surgery Residency draws trainees from across the U.S. and around the world. While all our residents have a love of learning and a compassionate approach to patient care, they come from diverse backgrounds, family statuses, and professional and personal interests.

What drew you to Mayo Clinic for residency training?
I enjoy training at Mayo Clinic because of how supported I feel as a fellow. We have a great team of advanced practitioners and residents along with faculty who genuinely care about my education.
What is living in Jacksonville like for you?
Living in Jacksonville is great for an outdoor lifestyle. I enjoy the access to numerous outdoor areas for running and cycling.
What do you love most about this program?
This program emphasizes my education being the priority. The one-to-one mentorship model allows me to gain extensive knowledge from my faculty. They are extremely supportive of this fellowship program.
What do you like most about colorectal surgery?
I like colorectal surgery because of the diversity of disease processes we treat. This keeps both clinic and operating room days full of variety. As with most surgical specialties, our impact in patient care is readily apparent.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I enjoy running and cycling. My wife and I have two dogs we enjoy spending time with and taking to the beach.
