Curriculum

Specific curriculum is based on a fellow's prior training in either dermatology or pathology. Dermatology-trained fellows have rotations in a variety of anatomic pathology subspecialties such as soft tissue and lymph node pathology in addition to extensive dermatopathology exposure. Pathology-trained fellows obtain exposure to clinical dermatology through clinical rotations and clinical correlation with clinical history and images during dermatopathology rotations.

Fellows in both tracks have additional training in:

  • Molecular genetics
  • Immunopathology
  • Electron microscopy

Didactic Training

During the program you will:

  • Attend the Department of Laboratory Medicine Leadership and Management Course
  • Participate in weekly dermatopathology conferences for dermatology and pathology residents
  • Teach residents from other specialties and dermatology residents who are on rotation in dermatopathology
  • Participate in fellow's journal club
