Headshot of Ibrahim Qozat, M.B.B.S.What attracted you to Mayo Clinic for fellowship training? Mayo Clinic is renowned worldwide for its prestige and exceptional reputation, which became evident throughout my medical school journey. I was drawn to Mayo Clinic because of its groundbreaking innovations, the ever-evolving advancements in medicine and surgery, and the level of care provided to patients. What truly set it apart for me, however, was the faculty, whose unwavering support of fellows’ learning journeys and consistent, constructive feedback make it an ideal environment for growth.

What makes the Glaucoma Fellowship at Mayo Clinic unique? It's unique in the experiences it offers emerging surgeons clinically, and the exposure it provides to new and developing research. The fellow is exposed to various glaucoma surgeries, including all types of MIGs procedures and traditional glaucoma surgeries. In addition, the program offers a high volume of cataract surgery, either conventional or Femtolaser, which allows you to be prepared for your future career. With respect to research, there is an entire team dedicated to research who I was closely involved with throughout my time at Mayo.
