Clinical training
The Interstitial Lung Disease and Pulmonary Vasculitis Fellowship includes 12 months of clinical training.
Rotation schedule
As a fellow in this program, you participate in rotations through the following areas, as well as elective rotations in related disciplines:

Didactic training
Clinical conferences, seminars, small discussion groups, journal clubs and one-on-one instruction are integral parts of this fellowship.
Research training
You are required to conduct some type of scholarly activity under the direction of supervising faculty.
Call frequency
There is no call rotation for this fellowship.
Teaching opportunities
During the fellowship, opportunities are available for fellows to teach residents and medical students.
Conferences
You are expected to attend a variety of required educational conferences provided by the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, and you have opportunities to present at national or international conferences.
Evaluation
To ensure that you acquire adequate knowledge and develop both clinical and research skills, your performance is monitored carefully during the Interstitial Lung Disease and Pulmonary Vasculitis Fellowship.
You are evaluated formally by your supervising faculty member after each clinical rotation and will meet with the program director to review these evaluations. This is accomplished through the electronic process MedHub, available anytime from any Mayo Clinic workstation or via remote access.
MedHub is linked to the six core competencies identified by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education:

Completed faculty evaluations are reviewed by the program director, who assigns a pass or fail grade based on your scores and comments by the faculty members. Upon approval of an evaluation by the program director, the evaluation immediately becomes available electronically to you in MedHub.
You also have an opportunity to complete an evaluation of faculty after each rotation, as well as evaluate the program on an annual basis.
