"The mentorship model allowed me to work one-on-one with the best urologic surgeons in the world. The high case volume and appropriately graduated surgical autonomy allowed me to substantially improve and refine my surgical skills within the realms of endourology and robotic surgery, and the support for academic endeavors allowed me to expand my skill set as an aspiring academician."

Current: Assistant Professor, Creighton University

"There are many different programs to choose from in the Endourology match and the program at Mayo Clinic was exactly what I was looking for. During the one year clinical program I was exposed to robotic and laparoscopic surgery, complex stone surgery, minimally invasive BPH procedures, and more. I was also looking for a program where I would still be able to focus on research while staying clinically active throughout the year. I had previously spent some time there as a medical student and had very fond memories of the friendliness and accessibility of the staff. I was reminded of this as soon as I returned for the fellowship interviews and was convinced that I wanted to continue my training here."

"At the end of my residency, I was interested in two subspecialties — stone/BPH surgery and minimally-invasive surgery. The Endourology and Minimally Invasive Urologic Surgery Fellowship at Mayo Clinic is a combined program where you get exposed to stone surgery, BPH surgery, and minimally-invasive surgery. It is a high-volume one-year program. It’s marginally equivalent to a two-year fellowship program in other institutions."

Current: Associate Professor of Surgery at University of Montreal and a consultant endourologist at CIUSSS Nord-de-l’ile de Montreal

"Mayo is Disney World for doctors, particularly surgeons. There is incredible infrastructure, support, training, and actually a balanced equality of life even as a trainee. Wonderful staff from the janitor to the chairman of the department. You come out well-trained, bottom line."

Current: Endourologist at Urology of Virginia
