Application Process
Positions
There is one position available on a competitive basis each year in the Mayo Clinic-sponsored Pediatric Surgery Fellowship at Phoenix Children's Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona.
Qualifications
To be eligible for the Pediatric Surgery Fellowship you must have:
- A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent
- Completed an approved ACGME general surgery residency program (many trainees have completed additional fellowship or research training before applying to the program)
- Eligibility to sit for the General Surgery Qualifying Examination offered through the American Board of Surgery
How to apply
The application and all supporting documentation must be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). The position begins on Aug. 1.
- To apply to the program, please register with the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
- Appointments are made through the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) Medical Specialties Matching Program. Candidates must register through NRMP in addition to applying through ERAS.
- The match occurs in May.
Applicants considered for an appointment will be invited to visit Phoenix Children's Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, for a personal interview with the program director and selected faculty.
