Founded in 1992, Mayo Clinic Health System links the expertise of Mayo Clinic with healthcare providers in local communities to offer patients a full spectrum of healthcare options, with more than 100 medical services and specialties available throughout the system. Patients receive quality healthcare at Mayo Clinic Health System sites and, when needed, can receive specialty care at Mayo Clinic's campuses in Rochester, Minnesota, or Jacksonville, Florida.

Affiliations with regional medical clinics in Mayo Clinic Health System offer students and trainees various additional clinical training and patient care opportunities, particularly in rural medicine, to coincide with their interests.

Locations

Mayo Clinic Health System sites are located in southern Minnesota, northeastern Iowa, and western Wisconsin. Each site works to best meet the unique needs of the community it serves. Facilities range from large regional medical centers with hospitals to rural primary care clinics.

Access to Mayo Clinic Health System allows students and trainees to draw from the knowledge and expertise of Mayo Clinic while collaborating with and learning from healthcare providers in diverse, individualized settings.

Learning at Mayo Clinic Health System

While Rochester, Minnesota, is home to the majority of Mayo Clinic’s medical and scientific educational programs, residency-level training opportunities also exist at Mayo Clinic Health System sites. The experience gained through these residencies and clinic rotation programs helps prepare physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and other professionals to bring Mayo Clinic-quality care to the local communities where they choose to establish their medical careers.

Additionally, Mayo Clinic Health System offers clinical rotations for many health sciences programs, giving students an opportunity to understand and appreciate the unique features of the community practice.
