Tuition and fees

There is no tuition for the Laboratory Animal Medicine Residency.

Other mandatory expenses

Residents are responsible for the costs associated with obtaining and maintaining a license to practice veterinary medicine in Minnesota after acceptance to the program. Fee information is available on the Minnesota Board of Veterinary Medicine fees page.

Stipend and benefits

The Laboratory Animal Medicine Residency provides an annual stipend starting at $62,000 for the first year with an annual increase each year of the residency. Note that this stipend has been adjusted to cover transportation between Rochester and the University of Minnesota or other external rotation sites in the Twin Cities area. Residents are eligible for Mayo Clinic health benefits and continuing education support.

Living expenses

Living expenses such as transportation, housing, and meals are the responsibility of the resident. The program does not offer any housing or scholarship assistance.
