In-Person Program

Applications for the 2026 In-person summer program will open January 15 and will remain open through February 15. 

The Mayo Clinic CARES In-Person Program takes place at our Phoenix, AZ campus near 56th Street off the 101.

To be eligible to apply, you must be a current sophomore or junior attending an Arizona high school. No prior clinical experience is necessary.

In 2026, the in-person program is transitioning to a 2-week experience during the month of June. Once the application becomes live, you will be able to choose a cohort to apply for: 

• Cohort 1: June 2-June 11 (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays only, from 10am-3pm)
• Cohort 2: June 16-June 25 (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays only, from 10am-3pm)

Virtual Program

Applications for the 2026 Virtual program will open on a date TBD.

Tuition and fees

There is no cost to participate. This is Mayo Clinic’s service to our community.
