Meet The Faculty
More than 200 physicians make up the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Mayo Clinic's campus in Rochester, Minnesota. Cardiologists provide the best possible care to patients with disorders of the heart, arteries, veins, and lymphatic vessels in a highly integrated and cooperative group practice.
Members of the department care for more than 60,000 patients annually, and the in-patient heart failure service cares for more than 800 patients annually. Since inception, we have performed nearly 500 cardiac transplants, with an annual volume of 25 to 30 cases, and an annual left ventricular assist device volume of 60 to 80.
Facilities
Supported by many laboratories, subspecialty clinics, preventive health programs, basic and clinical research programs, and continuing education programs, cardiologists offer patients the latest in new diagnostic techniques, drug therapy, and interventions.
Faculty
In addition to caring for patients in their clinical practices, Mayo Clinic's faculty members are committed to teaching and facilitating the growth of medical knowledge. Many of our faculty have published and lectured extensively and are highly regarded in their fields.
The Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Fellowship includes 20 cardiologists, four cardiovascular transplant surgeons and six midlevel providers, and is staffed by specialists in adult and pediatric cardiology, infectious diseases, nephrology, thoracic diseases, anesthesiology, critical care medicine, and pathology.
You have direct access to the cardiology faculty at Mayo Clinic throughout your training in the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Fellowship.
