Elizabeth Wallace, Ph.D.
Before starting the Clinical Neuropsychology Fellowship at Mayo Clinic Florida, I completed my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Kentucky and a predoctoral neuropsychology internship at the UCLA Semel Institute. I also spent a few years working in scientific conference programming and clinician engagement for dementia and rare disease nonprofit organizations.
I was drawn to this fellowship for its rich training opportunities in the three foundational areas of neurodegenerative, neurosurgical, and complex medical neuropsychology, and my experience thus far has been outstanding. A unique benefit of this fellowship is learning from the expert faculty’s innovative approaches to clinical applications of neuropsychology, including work with low base rate conditions, intraoperative cognitive mapping, treatment and rehabilitation interventions, and more. This fellowship has broadened my perspective of what neuropsychology is and what it can be, and there is no shortage of cutting-edge clinical, research, and professional development activities tailored to meet my training goals. I also have the opportunity to work collaboratively on multidisciplinary teams that deeply value neuropsychology and are committed to the highest quality patient care. The kindness and camaraderie of the faculty and team members make this a wonderful and supportive training environment.
