  • Core faculty that have experience in complex inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) surgery, recurrent rectal cancer, and Pressurized Intraperitoneal Aerosolized Chemotherapy (PIPAC)

  • An extensive schedule of didactic conferences which all residents are invited to attend
  • A quarterly journal club and mock oral examinations
  • A cadaver-based educational curriculum that includes robotics, open, pelvic, and transanal minimally invasive surgery (TAMIS)

The Colon and Rectal Surgery Residency fulfills the training requirements as defined by the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

Certification

After successfully completing the program, residents are eligible to take the qualifying exam offered by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.
