Meet The Faculty
The Department of Dermatology facilities at the Scottsdale campus of Mayo Clinic include a large practice area with a surgical suite, clinical exam rooms, resident workroom, dermatology library and a dermatopathology work area with a multiheaded teaching microscope.
From the program director
It is my pleasure to introduce you to our Dermatology Residency at Mayo Clinic's campus in Arizona. Our department takes great pride in our residents.
Our program offers the close mentorship of a small program, combined with the tremendous educational resources and academic excellence of Mayo Clinic. Along with the dermatology residencies at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and Jacksonville, Florida, our program participates in a shared curriculum via satellite conferences with the other Mayo Clinic sites.
From the most common conditions to the rarest cutaneous lymphomas, our residents directly care for patients with the full spectrum of dermatologic disorders. A distinctive feature of our program is the direct scheduling of patients on resident calendars, so that patients identify the residents as their providers of dermatologic care, while faculty members provide supportive guidance and supervision.
This arrangement allows the residents to gain progressive experience and confidence in the management of both straightforward and highly complex dermatologic orders. At the completion of their training, the residents are exceptionally well-prepared for any future career option that they choose, ranging from academic medicine to additional subspecialty training or private practice.
