From the program directors
Dermatology residency is challenging, but it can be rewarding and enjoyable in a collegial and supportive environment. The critical component to our success has been the dedication of our residents to learning and their encouragement and caring for one another.
Both residents and faculty agree that the strength of our program lies in the unique design of our resident clinic in which every resident clinic is a continuity clinic. The ability for a resident to follow patients longitudinally for three years develops expertise in clinical diagnosis and treatment, procedural expertise, and patient advocacy.
Diversity of educational hands-on experiences from general dermatology to procedural dermatology to cosmetic dermatology prepares our residents for a range of career paths, including private practice, fellowship, and academic dermatology.
Our faculty is highly committed to the professional development of our residents and the program facilitates extensive personal contact with each faculty member through our staffing model. In addition, our residents have access to tremendous clinical, educational, and research resources throughout their training. The program encourages successful mentor-mentee relationships to maximize the opportunity for personal achievement.
Please explore our website to learn more about our curriculum, faculty, and residents. You will discover that Mayo Clinic in Florida is a wonderful place to spend three years training in dermatology.
