Overview

There are two tracks in the one-year Dermatopathology Fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Both options meet the certification requirements of the American Boards of Dermatology and Pathology in dermatopathology. Both can be tailored to meet your specific career goals.

  • One track is designed for clinically based, board-eligible dermatologists. As per ACGME requirements, four months of fellowship are devoted exclusively to dermatopathology. The remaining eight months are divided between dermatopathology and other subject areas in anatomic pathology (hematopathology, bone and soft tissue pathology, molecular techniques, etc.).
  • One track is for laboratory-based, board-eligible pathologists. As per ACGME requirements, four months of fellowship are devoted exclusively to dermatopathology. The remaining eight months are divided between dermatopathology and clinical dermatology. 

Accreditation

The training program fulfills the requirements for subspecialty training in dermatopathology set by the American Boards of Dermatology and Pathology.
