Application Process

Positions

Five positions are available on a competitive basis each year in the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at Mayo Clinic's campus in Jacksonville, Florida.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants for the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship must have completed three years in an accredited postgraduate training program in internal medicine in the United States or Canada.

If you graduated from a medical school outside of the U.S. or Canada, a valid Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certificate is required. Our program does accept candidates on J1 and H1 visas.

The required materials listed under the general admissions requirements will only be needed if matched with our program.

How to apply

The application and all supporting documentation must be submitted by Aug. 7 of the year preceding the program start date. The academic year begins on July 1.

Candidates must apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) for fellowship applicants and provide the required documents as listed in ERAS*.

*Please note the Hematology Oncology Fellowship in Jacksonville, Florida, requires four letters of recommendation, one being from the candidate's residency program director.

  1. Visit the ERAS for fellowship applicants website.
  2. Appointments are made through the Medical Specialties Matching Program, which is sponsored by the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Applicants must register for the match in addition to applying through ERAS.
  3. Applicants considered for an appointment will be invited to a virtual interview with the program director and selected faculty. Interviews are conducted in September and October each year.
