Didactic learning

Clinical conferences, seminars, small discussion groups, journal clubs, and one-on-one instruction are integral parts of the Hospital Medicine Fellowship.

Core curriculum

The comprehensive curriculum covers essential aspects and processes of inpatient medical care based on recommendations of the Society of Hospital Medicine. These topics are covered in weekly lectures by hospital medicine faculty and other Mayo faculty.

Evaluation

Experienced Mayo faculty carefully monitor fellows' performance to ensure that fellows acquire adequate knowledge and develop technical skills during training. Supervising faculty evaluate fellows after each clinical rotation. Hospital medicine fellows also regularly evaluate the faculty to ensure their educational needs are being met.
