What are some highlights of fellowship training at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona? One of the many highlights of the Musculoskeletal Imaging Fellowship was the diversity of staff educational backgrounds that allowed for a variety of styles and verbiage to choose from for use in our future practice. Attendings were invested in my learning and offered customized support for a career in academic or private practice. Another highlight was the frequent informal visits of orthopedic surgeons to the reading room to discuss the best plans of care for our mutual patients. Coming from a residency without a nearby orthopedic department, I enjoyed hearing directly from the surgeons about what they performed to help optimize our interpretations. I was very pleased with my training at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona, and I highly recommend it!

How did Mayo Clinic prepare you for your current position? The Musculoskeletal Imaging Fellowship offers outstanding instruction and readout sessions of rare, complex, and unusual cases, particularly ortho-oncology. The preparation and presentation at the sarcoma tumor board further exposed me to various disease processes and surgical interventions. General call was extremely beneficial with regards to interpretation pace and efficiency of complex cases while performing procedures which is a critical skill for private practice and one of the strengths of this fellowship.
