I chose Mayo Clinic for my fellowship because I was excited about the opportunity to live in Arizona and appreciated the strong elective options that allow me to maintain my general skills. I’ve enjoyed living in the Phoenix area, with its great hiking, vibrant food scene, and overall quality of life. The program’s high MSK procedural volume and diverse case complexity were also major factors in my decision, offering the ideal environment to strengthen my skills and grow as a clinician.

As an Arizona native, I was excited for the opportunity to stay close to friends and family while completing my Musculoskeletal Imaging fellowship at Mayo Clinic. I was drawn to the program’s well-rounded training, which offers a strong mix of both complex tumor and sports imaging. I have appreciated the broad procedural experience and graded autonomy, which have helped me build confidence and develop a sense of ownership in patient care. Most of all, I value the supportive and welcoming environment, as well as the mentorship from faculty who are genuinely invested in my professional and personal growth. The faculty are excellent teachers who make learning engaging and fun, and the collaborative culture among fellows and staff has made this a very positive training experience that I would choose again without hesitation.

The MSK Imaging fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Arizona provides excellent clinical training and exposure to a broad range of cases. As a fellow, I work closely with faculty who are deeply committed to teaching, mentorship, and patient care. The program offers a supportive learning environment with opportunities to interpret a wide variety of musculoskeletal studies, gain experience with image-guided procedures, and participate in multidisciplinary discussions with clinical teams. The combination of strong clinical training, mentorship, and academic opportunities makes this fellowship a great place for professional growth and preparation for a career in musculoskeletal radiology.
