Meet Our Fellows

The Neurosurgical International Fellowship draws trainees from around the world. While all our trainees have a love of learning and a compassionate approach to patient care, they come from diverse backgrounds, family status, and professional and personal interests.

Meet the current fellow in the Neurosurgical International Fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Why did you choose to train at Mayo Clinic?  As a neurosurgeon committed to continuous growth and excellence in patient care, I sought an environment that would allow me to advance both my surgical expertise and my approach to comprehensive, team-based medicine.

I received extensive neurosurgical training in Japan within an excellent clinical environment, which provided me with a strong technical foundation and disciplined surgical judgment. At this stage of my career, I chose to pursue the next step of my training at Mayo Clinic, where surgical excellence is deeply integrated with a patient-first philosophy.

Mayo Clinic’s emphasis on teamwork, open and constructive discussion, and continuous quality improvement provides an ideal environment to refine surgical skills while learning how to provide patient-centered care at the highest standard. Through this fellowship, I aim to grow not only as a technically skilled neurosurgeon, but also as a physician who contributes meaningfully to thoughtful, collaborative, patient-centered, and high-quality care.
