What attracted you to Mayo Clinic?

Mayo Clinic's faculty and staff are truly invested in the professional and personal development of their trainees, creating an excellent learning environment where residents can pursue their interests and pave their own career path. The opportunity to train alongside leaders in ophthalmology while caring for patients with complex and rare diseases challenged me to become a thoughtful clinician and surgeon. I am grateful to be part of the Mayo community that shaped my approach to caring for patients.

What attracted you to Mayo Clinic?

I was attracted to Mayo Clinic because of its unique balance of mentorship, autonomy, and patient-centered care. The program gives residents real ownership of patient care throughout residency, allowing us to follow patients longitudinally and take an active role in clinical and surgical decision-making. The progressive autonomy built into the training develops both confidence and independence, while the collaborative faculty provide outstanding support every step of the way. The combination of responsibility, mentorship, and continuity of care made Mayo stand out to me and remains one of the program's greatest strengths.
