Why I chose Mayo Clinic: I chose Mayo Clinic for my peripheral nerve surgery fellowship because it offers the ideal environment to grow both clinically and academically. Under the leadership of Dr. Spinner — whose groundbreaking work in complex brachial plexus injuries and nerve
tumors has helped shape the field — this program represents the standard of excellence I aspire to. As a global referral center, Mayo Clinic provides exceptional exposure to the full spectrum of peripheral nerve pathology. The fellowship offers hands-on experience in managing a wide range of conditions, from entrapment syndromes to complex brachial plexus injuries, as well as both benign and malignant peripheral nerve tumors. This comprehensive clinical volume, combined with a strong emphasis on multidisciplinary collaboration, creates a unique and enriching training experience.

Mayo Clinic’s commitment to patient care, research, education, and innovation aligns
perfectly with my goals. What draws me most to Mayo Clinic is its culture of mentorship,
teamwork, and intellectual curiosity. The opportunity to learn from Dr. Spinner and the
exceptional faculty is one I deeply value. I’m confident that this fellowship will provide the surgical expertise, academic foundation, and professional guidance needed to contribute meaningfully to the future of peripheral
nerve surgery.
