At the completion of the Radiation Oncology Residency, physicians are ready for the demands of private practice, academic practice, or a fellowship program.
This is a strong residency program that allows residents to develop both as strong clinicians and as individuals. The program made me feel prepared to treat a wide range of pathologies, helped foster my interest in particle therapy, and helped me develop skills in resident and medical student education that I am using on a daily basis in practice. I would absolutely choose to train at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, if given the choice again.

Mayo prepared me exceptionally for life after residency. Gaining autonomy through the apprenticeship model transitioned me confidently into independent practice. I’m extremely thankful for the patient volume, diversity of cases, and multidisciplinary tumor board discussions with leaders in their respective fields across all disease sites. Most of all, I appreciate the relationships and support received from physicians’ mentors, physicists, radiation oncology department staff, and co-residents.

The Radiation Oncology Residency at Mayo Clinic is an exceptional training program. In addition to a diverse and busy practice with phenomenal multidisciplinary collaboration, the program was very supportive and I was able to identify several non-clinical areas for research and career growth that are unique to Mayo Clinic. I would not be where I am today without my training at Mayo Clinic and I am incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to complete my training there.
