Residency: Mayo Clinic Arizona, Scottsdale, AZ
Clinical interests: Functional status and well-being, systemic sarcoidosis, seronegative spondyloarthropathies, and vasculitis
Research interests: Prognosis in rheumatic disease and gender inequity in medical training
Hometown: Toronto, ON, Canada
Fun facts: I enjoy yoga, cooking, documentaries, reading by the pool, and exploring the outdoors

What attracted you to Mayo Clinic? I feel honored to continue my training at the Mayo Clinic. I appreciate the support, resources, and collaboration opportunities that make it possible to provide excellent patient-centered care. Additionally, the complexity of cases provides exposure to the rarest of rare diseases seen and managed in the field of rheumatology. I was specifically attracted to the Mayo Clinic Jacksonville division given its energetic, passionate, accomplished, and warm faculty dedicated to supporting my clinical, research, and educational interests.

Clinical interests: Systemic scleroderma, sarcoidosis, inflammatory myopathies, vasculitis
Research interests: Stem cell therapy in autoimmune disease, utilizing biomarkers and serologic testing to determine prognosis for autoimmune disease and central sensitization syndrome
Hometown: LaGrange Park, IL
Fun facts: I enjoy exploring new restaurants in Jacksonville and am into reformer Pilates classes, golfing, and tennis. I have a ragdoll cat named Leo and a Cavalier King Charles spaniel dog named Charlie.

What attracted you to Mayo Clinic? I was fortunate enough to graduate from Mayo Clinic Florida for internal medicine residency and could not imagine training anywhere else. The patient-centered philosophy combined with learning from the world's leading experts in the field really sets Mayo apart. The faculty at Mayo Clinic are down to earth, caring, and incredible mentors, physicians, and doctors. Additionally, the location near the beach is an added bonus!

Clinical interests: Interstitial lung disease, vasculitis
Research interests: Musculoskeletal ultrasound
Hometown: Barranquilla, Colombia
Fun facts: I grew up in Barranquilla, a vibrant city on Colombia’s Caribbean coast. My path to medicine was shaped by a wide range of interests: I earned a black belt in Taekwondo, learned to play the congas, explored fast reading, and even considered becoming a chef.

What attracted you to Mayo Clinic? What drew me to Mayo Clinic was its unwavering focus on patient care, its deep commitment to education and research, and its constant pursuit of excellence. Training at an institution that has shaped the history of medicine is both an honor and a responsibility. I was inspired by the opportunity to grow in a place where innovation, collaboration, and compassion come together to create a lasting impact.
