Department and Faculty

The Department of Neurology at Mayo Clinic is a highly integrated, collaborative department of more than 100 adult and pediatric neurologists who specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and research of conditions and diseases affecting the nervous system. Close collaboration with specialists in other Mayo Clinic departments and divisions offers Mayo Clinic patients comprehensive care based on the traditional Mayo Clinic Model of Care.

The clinical, educational, and research programs at Mayo Clinic thrive on their multidisciplinary nature. As a cerebrovascular fellow, in addition to working with neurology staff members, you will work with Mayo Clinic neurosurgeons, interventional and non-interventional neuroradiologists, physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians, cardiologists, and other health care providers who are experts in the management of cerebrovascular disorders.

Each of the more than 100 faculty members in the Department of Neurology belong to a group of neurologic subspecialists, who supply unique clinical and research services to patients and colleagues. These subspecialty groups, including those in the Division of Cerebrovascular Diseases, cross geographical boundaries with staff consultants at Mayo Clinic's campuses in Rochester, Minnesota; Jacksonville, Florida; Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona; and in Mayo Clinic Health System.

Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus in Rochester, Minnesota, is an accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center.
