Department and Faculty

The Department of Neurology at Mayo Clinic is a highly integrated, collaborative department with more than 100 adult and pediatric neurologists. They specialize in diagnosing, treating, and researching conditions and diseases affecting the nervous system. Close collaboration among specialists across Mayo Clinic departments provides comprehensive care in line with the traditional Mayo Clinic Model of Care.

The clinical, educational, and research programs at Mayo Clinic thrive on their multidisciplinary nature. As a cerebrovascular fellow, you work with neurology staff members and Mayo Clinic neurosurgeons. You also collaborate with interventional and non-interventional neuroradiologists, physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians, and cardiologists. Additional collaboration includes health care providers who are experts in the management of cerebrovascular disorders.

Each of the more than 100 faculty members in the Department of Neurology belongs to a group of neurologic subspecialty group. These groups provide unique clinical and research services to patients and colleagues. Subspecialty groups include the Division of Cerebrovascular Diseases and cross geographical boundaries across Mayo Clinic campuses and Health System locations. Staff consultants practice in Rochester, Minnesota; Jacksonville, Florida; Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona; and Mayo Clinic Health System locations.

Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus in Rochester, Minnesota, is an accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center.

Faculty

The Stroke and Cerebrovascular Disease Division at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, includes 10 stroke neurologists and five neurointensivists. They collaborate with multidisciplinary stroke team members across specialties and disciplines.

Your program director and colleagues in the Division of Cerebrovascular Disease provide comprehensive mentorship and support throughout the fellowship. Additionally, your program director will serve as your point of contact. They will introduce you and your family to Mayo Clinic and the Rochester, Minnesota, community.
