Mayo Clinic at Phoenix, Arizona

Phoenix Campus

The Phoenix campus includes Mayo Clinic Hospital and Mayo Clinic Specialty Building, along with the Mayo Clinic Building, which houses the cancer center and proton beam therapy facility.

Education facilities include the Multidisciplinary Simulation Center, medical library, Franke Education Center, and the Integrated Education and Research Building, opening in 2024.

Scottsdale Campus

The Scottsdale campus offers outpatient surgery, laboratory space, diagnostic testing, imaging, and pharmacy services in the Mayo Clinic Building.

Educational facilities include the Center for Procedural Skills Innovation and Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine, which provides students with access to a diverse patient population and two research-focused buildings—Collaborative Research and Samuel C. Johnson Research Buildings.

Getting around campus

How spread out is the campus?

The Scottsdale and Phoenix campuses are 14 miles apart.

How do people get around?

Some people rely on their personal vehicles for transportation. Others walk or bike.

Phoenix and Scottsdale have an extensive, affordable bus system with regular stops on Mayo Clinic's campus in Scottsdale and at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix. Students and trainees are offered free unlimited access to the Valley Metro system, which provides bus and light rail service throughout the metropolitan area.

We also have a courtesy shuttle service between the Scottsdale and Phoenix campuses. The shuttle runs between 6 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Service is every half hour.

Are you bike-friendly?

Yes! Many students bike to get around each campus.

Where will I park?

Visitor Parking

Current students and trainees should not park in these areas.

Student and Staff Parking

Parking is available for some students and trainees in designated staff parking areas. During orientation, you'll receive more details on where to park, how to access the campus shuttle and on-campus parking lot maps.

Are there taxis and ride-sharing options?

Yes! We have Uber and Lyft, along with several taxi companies.

What will my commute be like?

There are several apartment communities within a few miles to each of the campuses.

Students may need a car to commute. Carpooling opportunities with other students may be available.

Is there student housing?

We do not have student housing facilities. But, we have resources and workshops for assisting you with things such as moving to Arizona and helping you find a place to live.

The Scottsdale and Phoenix areas have many housing options, including single-family homes, townhomes, and apartment rentals. Housing costs vary depending on the accommodations.
