Stipend

An annual stipend of $81,000 for the Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery, including Heart and Lung Transplant, is paid to you in biweekly installments over the course of the 12 months. There are no tuition fees.

Benefits

This position is eligible day one for a full package of benefits, which includes medical insurance, prescription coverage, vision, and dental insurance options.

The program also offers a $2,500 CME allowance to facilitate attending a relevant conference of your choice.

Vacation, holiday, and sick leave

Fellows are allotted 20 total days of paid time off for personal vacation (including professional interviews), holidays, and sick leave. Mayo Clinic recognizes six major holidays each year: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Fellows may be required to staff scheduled holidays, evenings, and weekends. A staffed holiday is not counted against the fellow’s allotment of 20 total days of paid time off.

Living expenses

Living expenses such as transportation, housing, and meals are the responsibility of the fellow.
