How to apply
Applications are accepted through ERAS. Applications for each academic year, which begins in July, should be completed by Aug. 13 one calendar year prior to the program start date. Complete the following steps to apply.
You must apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). International medical graduates should contact the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) for information on how to apply using ERAS.
- To apply to the program, visit the ERAS website
- All applications to Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education (MCSGME) programs must include these application materials
In addition to the standard application materials required by MCSGME, this program requires:
- An additional letter of recommendation from your residency program director (for a total of three recommendation letters). All recommendation letters must be dated within six months of submission, and be completed in the Recommendation Request section. Each recommender will receive an email with a link to upload a letter.
Applications after Jan. 1 may be accepted outside of ERAS on an individual basis.
Internal applicants applying only to the home program do not need to utilize ERAS. Reach out to your education program coordinator for additional information.
Most interviews are conducted in July-August of each year.
