The Adult Lower Extremity Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship is designed to provide you with exposure to a large volume and variety of reconstructive surgical problems involving the hip and knee, as well as teaching, research, and leadership opportunities. The program includes 12 months of clinical work on four to eight consultants' services; each rotation is six weeks to three months long.
While on these clinical services, you will work one-on-one with a member of our adult lower extremity reconstructive faculty, perform preoperative consultations, participate actively in surgical procedures, and will be directly involved in postoperative patient care management.
In addition, you will be active in specialty-specific educational conferences and clinical or basic science research projects. The fellowship is designed to provide flexibility in achieving your career goals.
On average, fellows complete four to eight different research projects a year and surgical case volume exceeds 350 cases per year for each fellow.

The Adult Lower Extremity Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)
The Adult Lower Extremity Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship began in 1972, and since that time, more than 80 physicians have completed training. It is anticipated that three fellows will complete training in the program annually.
