Mayo Clinic anesthesiology residents attending a lecture

The Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine residency program provides a robust curriculum with broad clinical experiences to empower graduates to become leaders within the field of anesthesiology.

The comprehensive curriculum spreads across three years of clinical anesthesiology in a multi-faceted approach. Clinical training is exceptional at Mayo Clinic with a wide range of complex cases in a variety of surgical fields that require unique anesthetic planning. Mayo Clinic Arizona leads the nation in abdominal transplant surgery and cutting-edge complex neurosurgical procedures. Our consultants routinely provide intraoperative teaching to bring anesthesia concepts to life in the operating room. Didactics include a weekly lecture series across basic, advanced, and subspecialty topics to address ABA-outlined concepts, as well as a dedicated Education Day tailored to our residents’ educational needs.

Our residents have ample research opportunities within our department with a wide variety of research interests amongst faculty.
