The Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Mayo Clinic's campus in Jacksonville, Florida, performs more than 850 cardiac and thoracic cases each year with approximately 44 heart transplants, 38 lung transplants, and a dozen ventricular assist devices using state-of-the-art technology.

At Mayo Clinic, physicians collaborate to determine the most appropriate care for each patient. Cardiovascular surgeons work within a multidisciplinary team to care for adults with cardiovascular disease.
