Visiting professors

Each year, the Division of Cardiovascular Surgery hosts the John W. Kirklin Named Visiting Professorship in Cardiovascular Surgery. This event is made possible with support through an endowment from John W. Kirklin, M.D., and Margaret K. Kirklin, M.D. It has become one of the division's most important academic activities and includes rounds and lectures with nationally and internationally renowned cardiovascular surgeons.

In addition, many other prominent professors visit Mayo Clinic each year. They present their work during conferences and special presentations. The fellow can meet with these individuals to discuss topics in the visiting professors' areas of expertise. You are encouraged to take full advantage of these opportunities.
