Overview

The Cerebrovascular and Skull Base Fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona, is a one-year fellowship that provides advanced training in microsurgical, interventional, endoscopic, and radiosurgical techniques and patient management.

The fellowship will provide you with a solid foundation in the knowledge and skills needed to be a leader in the management of complex cranial base and neurovascular diseases and brain tumors. The fellowship also includes protected time for research. In addition to clinical training, the fellowship includes a hands-on simulation curriculum to bolster skills.  

We also offer an enfolded fellowship option that is appropriate for candidates who completed a chief resident position or for PGY-7 level.

Mayo Clinic in Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona, sees a high volume of neurovascular and skull-based pathologies. The skull base program is characterized by the seamless integration of practitioners from neuro-ophthalmology, neuroendocrinology, neuro-otolaryngology, neuroradiology, neuroplastics, and radiation oncology.

Accreditation

The Cerebrovascular and Skull Base Fellowship is accredited by the Committee on Advanced Subspecialty Training (CAST) through The Society of Neurological Surgeons (SNS).

Certification

After successfully completing the program, you receive a certification of completion in cerebrovascular and skull base training from Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education.

Program history

The Cerebrovascular and Skull Base Fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona, began in 2015. We anticipate one fellow will complete this program annually.
