Application Process
Positions
We recruit two consultation-liaison psychiatry fellows annually at Mayo Clinic's campus in Rochester, Minnesota. Positions are available on a competitive basis.
Qualifications
To be eligible for the Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship, you must complete a general psychiatry residency in an ACGME-accredited residency program, an AOA-approved residency program, a program with ACGME International (ACGME-I) Advanced Specialty Accreditation, or a Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) –accredited or College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)-accredited residency program located in Canada and take the appropriate board examinations. We welcome applications from residents who are in their final year of training in general psychiatry and graduates of general psychiatry programs who are now pursuing other endeavors.
How to apply
The academic year begins in July, though start dates can be flexible if needed.
The application and all supporting documentation must be submitted by Oct. 1 of the year preceding the program start date.
You can apply through ERAS or by submitting the Common Application prepared by the Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry (ACLP) (formerly Psychosomatic Medicine).

All applications to Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education programs must include these application materials. In addition, we require a photo, a copy of your diploma, and your official final transcript.

We invite applications from holders of J-1 and H-1B visas.

Appointments are made through the Psychiatry Fellowship Match, which is sponsored by the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). You must register for the match in addition to applying through ACLP.

Applicants considered for an appointment will be invited to visit Mayo Clinic for a personal interview with the program director and selected faculty. Interviews are conducted between September 1 and November 1 each year.
