Application Process
Positions
One position is available on a competitive basis each year in the Headache Fellowship at Mayo Clinic's campus in Minnesota.
Qualifications
To apply to the Headache Fellowship Program, you must have completed an accredited four-year residency in neurology and be board eligible for the American Board Examination in Psychiatry and Neurology.
Fellowship appointees are required to obtain and maintain an appropriate medical license while enrolled in the Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education.
How to apply
The academic year begins in July.
The application and all supporting documentation must be submitted by March 1 of the year preceding the program start date.
Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education does not process printed applications to this program. You must apply through Recruit, a third-party application service and sign up for the NRMP Match.
Complete the following steps to apply:
- Create an account to begin the online Application for Admission
- All applications to Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education programs must include these application materials.
- After submission, view the Supplemental Items and Documents
- Upload each required item in the Supplemental Items section (if applicable)
- Complete the Recommendation Request section (if applicable)
In addition to the standard application materials required by Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education, this program requires:
- Three letters of recommendation, one of which needs to be from your residency program director or department chair.
Applicants considered for an appointment will be invited for an interview with the program director and selected faculty.
Most interviews are conducted from April 1 - June 30 each year. The program participates in the Headache Medicine Fellowship Match.
