Positions

There is one position available on a competitive basis each year in the Integrated Community and Rural Surgery Residency.

Qualifications

Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education at Mayo Clinic accepts highly qualified residents and fellows for its training programs. Successful candidates exhibit strong qualifications for the specialty they wish to pursue.

How to apply

You must apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). This can be done through your medical school dean's office. International medical graduates should contact the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) for information on how to apply using ERAS.

The application and all supporting documentation must be submitted by Oct. 1 of the year preceding the appointment date. The academic year begins in July.

  1. To apply to the program, visit the ERAS website. All applications to Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education programs must include these application materials. Note: Three letters of recommendation are required to apply for this program.

  2. All appointments are made through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Candidates must register through the NRMP website.

  3. Applicants considered for an appointment will be invited to a virtual panel interview with selected Mayo Clinic faculty, associate program directors, and residents. You will spend time with the program director, faculty, and residents. You will also get to tour the facilities, observe our chief resident conference, and meet with faculty interviewers to get a more personal view of this incredible place.
