The integrated program is dedicated to outstanding diagnostic and interventional training. The Florida campus boasts more than 60 radiology faculty, including world-renowned educators and researchers committed to excellence in clinical practice, education, and research. Our interventional practice boasts a high volume and wide variety of cases.
As a destination medical center with world-class clinical divisions, Mayo Clinic attracts a diverse patient population. Our five-year training allows residents to be exposed to a broad variety of pathologies. A renowned solid organ transplantation program, as well as leading medical and surgical oncology programs drives countless complex patients to receive consultation, imaging, and procedural care at our facility. These consultative practices work with us to provide integrated subspecialty patient care in interventional oncology, transplantation, pulmonary intervention, arterial and venous intervention including complex IVC filter retrieval, women’s and men’s health, gastrointestinal and genitourinary intervention, liver disease and portal hypertension.
The division of interventional radiology is a leader in interventional oncology amongst other subspecialties. We have a dedicated IR clinic that focuses on the complete care of our patients. As an institution, we are a high-volume interventional oncology center, pioneered first in-human interventions, and lead ground breaking clinical trials. We are consistently using the newest technology when applicable, including irreversible electroporation of pancreatic tumors (in collaboration with hepatobiliary surgery) and MR-guided focused ultrasound ablation of prostate cancer (in collaboration with urology). Our ever-expanding facilities in Jacksonville, Florida, include a 3D Printing Lab and a new Artificial Intelligence Lab, as well as our state-of-the-art equipment.
Our faculty is passionate about patient care, teaching, and research. The Mayo Clinic Leadership Model promotes inspiring these values in our own trainees, engaging colleagues, driving results, and thinking in a bold and forward way. The Mayo Clinic practice model is collaborative and collegial, which fosters an optimal learning environment. Our faculty-to-resident ratio provides trainees with extensive one-on-one teaching. Mayo Clinic resources will not only provide outstanding clinical education, but also provide you with research collaboration, mentoring, teaching, and leadership opportunities. The skills and relationships you gain at this program will position you to accomplish any career goals you have.
We strive to create a collegial, mutually respectful, and learner centered environment in the IR division. The IR team is like one large family and our training program is one of the most valuable aspects of the practice. We are certain you will enjoy your time here and walk away with a world class experience ready to take on the next journey in your career.
