Application Process

Positions

One position is available on a competitive basis each year in the Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship at Mayo Clinic's campus in Jacksonville, Florida.

Qualifications

To be eligible for the Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship, you must have successfully taken and passed USMLE Steps 1, 2 and 3 on the first attempt, and have graduated from an accredited surgery residency or equivalent.

Appropriate candidates must be eligible to obtain a full medical license in the state of Florida. There is not a graduation cut-off date for eligibility to apply to the program. Please refer to the MCSGME admissions page for detailed information regarding visa eligibility.

If you are a foreign medical graduate, you must have recent (within two years of application) ECFMG certification.

How to apply

The academic year begins Aug. 1.

All details regarding application materials and deadlines are managed by The Fellowship Council. To review the application details completely, see The Fellowship Council website.

You must apply through The Fellowship Council, a third-party application service.

  1. Visit The Fellowship Council website to register as an applicant. All applications to Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education programs must include these application materials.
  2. Appointments are made through the Advanced GI, Bariatric, Flexible Endo, HPB and Advanced GI MIS Match, which is coordinated by The Fellowship Council.
  3. Applicants considered for an appointment will be invited to visit Mayo Clinic for a personal interview with the program director and selected faculty. Interviews are conducted between December and February each year.
