Amanda Dahl, M.D.

Amanda Dahl, M.D.

2021 program graduate

"Mayo Clinic attracted me for both Pediatric residency and Pediatric Endocrinology fellowship because of the ability to care for a diverse patient population. While here, I have had the opportunity to solidify basic knowledge for both general pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology disorders but also the unique opportunity to observe and manage rare diseases. I chose Pediatric Endocrinology as my career path because of my love for caring for children with Type 1 diabetes. Additionally, I have found the diverse array of hormone disorders to be mentally stimulating."

"Having personally known some of the previous fellows, Endocrinology at Mayo was an easy choice for me. During my training, I have seen complex patients from all over the world, while enjoying a good work life balance and not worrying about an exorbitant cost of living! From an academic standpoint, the breadth of Research available at Mayo is incredible and the faculty is completely invested in your individualized growth."

Heather Wadams, M.D.

2016 program graduate

"I was looking for a program with a strong history of excellence in a small city and I found everything and more at Mayo. I was a solo parent throughout fellowship, my program and co-fellows were incredibly supportive. My daughter and I both skated with the Rochester Figure Skating Club and felt very welcome in the Rochester community. The fellowship program was rigorous with strong mentorship that more than prepared me for the next stage in my career. I continue to carry the Mayo model with me. It guides the care I give to my patients and the teaching/mentoring I give to the residents."
