Meet Our Fellows

The Radiology Informatics and Artificial Intelligence Fellowship draws trainees from across the U.S. and around the world. While all of our fellows have a love of learning and a compassionate approach to patient care, they come from diverse backgrounds, family status, and professional and personal interests.

Tubo Shi, M.D.

Tubo Shi, M.D.Hometown: Xilinhot, Inner Mongolia, China (now based in Christchurch, New Zealand)
Residency:
Radiology Residency, Christchurch Hospital, New Zealand
About me:
I’m a radiologist with a strong interest in imaging informatics, clinical workflows, and the practical application of technology to improve healthcare delivery. During my training in Christchurch, I took on leadership roles including chief resident, and developed several digital tools aimed at improving departmental operations, ranging from scheduling platforms to diagnostic support systems. Outside of work, I enjoy coding, open-source development, and finding creative ways to bridge the gap between medicine and technology.
Why Mayo:
I chose Mayo Clinic for its unique combination of clinical excellence, academic rigor, and forward-thinking approach to informatics. The fellowship offers an unparalleled opportunity to learn from leaders in radiology AI and workflow innovation, while contributing to projects that have real-world impact. I was drawn to the culture of collaboration, mentorship, and continuous improvement, values that resonate deeply with how I approach both medicine and technology.
