Application process

Positions

One position is available on a competitive basis each year in the Rheumatology Fellowship at Mayo Clinic's campus in Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona. The fellowship is a two-year program.

Qualifications

To apply to the Rheumatology Fellowship using ERAS, you must be on track to complete an accredited internal medicine training program and have a license to practice medicine in the United States.

If appointed to the fellowship program, you must provide a residency training certificate as a condition of employment.

Musculoskeletal ultrasound is an integral part of the fellowship training program so you must have a strong interest in developing proficiency in performing musculoskeletal ultrasound procedures.

How to apply

The application and all supporting documentation must be submitted by Aug. 1 of the year preceding the program start date. The academic year begins in July.

You must apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

  1. To apply to the program, visit the ERAS for fellowship application website. All applications to Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education programs must include these application materials.
  2. Appointments are made through the Rheumatology Match, included under the Medical Specialties Matching Program, which is sponsored by the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). You must register for the match in addition to applying through ERAS.
  3. Applicants considered for an appointment will be invited to interview with the program director and selected faculty. Interviews are conducted between August and October each year.
