Meet Our Fellows

The Trauma and Genitourinary Reconstruction Fellowship draws trainees from across the United States and around the world. While all our fellows have a love of learning and a compassionate approach to patient care, they come from diverse backgrounds, family status, and professional and personal interests.

Why Mayo? There are so many wonderful aspects of the GURS fellowship here at Mayo. They include exposure to three GURS trained faculty with diverse backgrounds and scopes of practice. There is also a mentorship model, which allows you to experience every aspect of a reconstructive practice, including the preoperative evaluation and counseling, operative experience, and postoperative follow-up. Mayo also offers exposure to a diverse complement of cases, from complex open and robotic upper and lower urinary tract reconstruction, multidisciplinary cases, open and endoscopic urethroplasties, gender affirming surgery, and prosthetics. Lastly, Mayo has excellent resources for research.

Future plans: I will be joining Mayo Clinic in Arizona as an academic reconstructive urologist with a goal of starting an adult congenitalism program in partnership with Phoenix Children's Hospital.

Mayo Fellows Association (MFA)

The Mayo Fellows Association (MFA) offers a peer and social support network for residents and fellows and their families with social events, athletics, and advocacy. The MFA also holds an annual resident and fellow appreciation event open to all trainees with complimentary massages, stress-reducing activities, and social support.

I chose the genitourinary reconstruction fellowship at Mayo for the exceptional mentorship, volume, diversity, and complexity of cases. I love the supportive environment and mentorship that I have received at Mayo. I plan to grow a genitourinary cancer survivorship and men’s health practice, combining my training in both genitourinary reconstruction and men’s health and infertility.
