2026 pharmacy intern, Mayo Clinic

Class of 2027, University of Oklahoma

My ten weeks at Mayo were transformative in ways I never fully anticipated. Working alongside mentors on hands-on projects, I grew more confident in my professional and soft skills. What struck me most was the culture: people genuinely invested in your growth, eager to connect you with anyone who could illuminate your path. Professional development days brought remarkable leaders whose candid conversations reshaped my future in pharmacy. But what truly made this summer unforgettable were the bonds I made with my peers—from pickleball to trivia nights at Thesis. Mayo has given me memories and experiences I'll cherish and carry with me, always.

2025 pharmacy intern, Mayo Clinic

Class of 2027, Drake University

Through the projects and mini-rotations, I witnessed the remarkable breadth of pharmacy practice, whether it was guiding patients through complex regimens with empathy and precision, driving innovation in patient care, or contributing to research and the development of clinical guidelines in areas with limited precedent. Weekly workshops challenged me to refine my presentation and communication skills, strengthen my emotional intelligence, and evolve into a more confident, self-aware professional. What made this experience even more meaningful was the bond I built with my cohort. We supported each other through everything, and one of our favorite traditions was grabbing ice cream at Flapdoodles.

During the past ten weeks, I have formed some of my favorite memories in my pharmacy journey alongside my cohort and mentors. My soft skills have flourished by managing my projects, which has connected me to great leaders within the Department of Pharmacy. Through my mini-rotations, I have met many incredible patients and have had the privilege of seeing how pharmacists play a key role in creating excellent patient care. I know I have formed lifelong friendships and connections while at Mayo Clinic, and I look forward to applying all my new knowledge and leadership development in my academic and professional career!

2023 pharmacy intern, Mayo Clinic

Class of 2025, University of Charleston School of Pharmacy

My favorite memory was learning about the different and unique areas in the pharmacy field. Also, recognizing the importance of collaboration among peers and healthcare providers to ensure the best outcome for the patient. This was one aspect I got to experience firsthand during one of my rotations at Mayo Clinic, where I was able to translate concerns and feelings about a treatment for a patient whose primary language was not English.
